This tour takes you around Huntsville’s beautiful chain of lakes and Lake of Bays. The views of the lake are stunning, as are the views from atop the Dorset Scenic Tower. Starting and ending in the beautiful town of Huntsville, this tour takes you through the charming villages of Dwight, Dorset and Baysville.
Directions and Tour Highlights:
Start your day off at the Whimsical Bakery downtown Huntsville for some fresh brewed coffee and warm cranberry scones with cranberry jam.
Head north east to the Dyer Memorial Nature Reserve to marvel at the stone monument and walk the shoreline of the Big East River. The Dyer Memorial is a unique find, and tells the tale of a man who loved his wife dearly.
Continue on Highway 60 to Dwight Beach to have a picnic by the water and take in the fresh air. Get on Hwy 35 to embark to the next location.
Stop off at the Dorset Scenic Tower to climb the steps and take in one of the most spectacular views in Muskoka. If you look way in the distance you might even spot the cranberry farm (lol but probably not)
Sit back and enjoy the drive to Baysville to pick up Yummies in a Jar. You are going to want to take so many yummies home with you, from cranberry jams, jellies, syrups and sauces.
Head north on Brunel Rd to get back to the Huntsville Brewhouse for dinner. Try their delicious Muskoka Maple Crunch Salad with LB spent grain granola, Bala cranberries, pumpkin seeds, sunflower seeds, Trout Creek greens, toasted coconut, and honey. Pair your dish with their Peach IPA blended with cranberry apple cider.
If you want to gain a true appreciation for cranberries, make a visit to Muskoka Lakes Farm & Winery part of your driving tour. Their Bog to Bottle Tour is the only one of its kind in the world, and has been designated a Canadian Signature Experience.
