Directions and Tour Highlights:

  • Start at York & Mason in Port Carling for a bite to eat around lunchtime.

  • Walk across the street to the Port Carling docks to climb aboard the Sunset Cruises Peerless II for a 2 hour afternoon boat ride around Lake Rosseau or Lake Muskoka.

  • After departing the historic cruise ship, walk from the town docks to The Muskoka Emporium to do some shopping from their pop-up clothing and home decor vendors. The Muskokery, inside The Muskoka Emporium, has some must-try Raspberry Cranberry Lucky Duck Fudge for you to pick-up.

  • Before leaving, catch a look at the iconic Port Carling Wall on the exterior of The Muskoka Emporium building.

  • While still in Port Carling, venture over to Field of Greens to shop their beautiful, local food market. They have a number of #CRANROUTE goodies for you to take home, including their housemade cranberry sauce.

  • Head south east on Hwy 118 towards Bracebridge until you come to Brackenrig Rd. Take this beautiful back road to get the best fall colour leaf peeping experience, all the way to The Craft Room Rosseau. The 22 minute drive to the Craft Room is well worth it to browse the wonderful gift shop, featuring gourmet kitchen, bath and beauty, giftware, books, games, craft supplies and neat things for kids and tots.

  • Your next (and most relaxing) stop is the JW Marriott The Rosseau Muskoka Resort & Spa to treat yourself to an invigoration treatment, like their delightful cranberry scrub treatment available during the harvest.

  • For dinner, you do not have to go far down Juddhaven Rd to the historic Clevelands House Resort. Go for dinner at the Dining Room and try their delicious fall Turkey Burger feature - a fresh ground turkey burger on a potato scallion bun, topped with baby spinach, goat cheese, grilled apple and a cranberry chutney.

If you want to gain a true appreciation for cranberries, make a visit to Muskoka Lakes Farm & Winery part of your driving tour. Their Bog to Bottle Tour is the only one of its kind in the world, and has been designated a Canadian Signature Experience.
